The 42nd Annual Newport International Boat Show, September 13-16, 2012, will feature new sailboats and powerboats, and thousands of products and services from both domestic and international exhibitors.
Multiple waterfront facilities along America’s Cup Avenue host the Show including Newport Yachting Center, Oldport Marine, Bannister’s Wharf and Bowen’s Wharf. All Show sites are accessible by land or by water taxi service.

The Newport International Boat Show is, traditionally, the first show of the season at which manufacturers launch their new sail and power boats, as well as new boating products.  Recognizing this, the Show has long identified those companies that bring their new product introductions to Newport.  And, for the past six years, the best of the new boats and products have been recognized with special awards made in conjunction with some of the leading national boating publications.  Nominees to this year’s Newport For New Products program were announced this week.

Included in the preliminary list of entries qualified for judging are sixteen sailboats, thirteen powerboats and five new products.  Though there will be only one “Best New Sailboat” and “Best New Powerboat” selected, the judges will first recognize the best of boats 30’ and Over as well as from those Under 30’ in each of the two categories.  Plus, the “Best New Boating Product” will be selected.  The increase in entries is seen as a sign of a recovering marine market and a great year for the nation’s first in-water show of the 2012-13 season!

New to the Newport For New Products awards this year will be a People’s Choice Award with attendees voting during the Show’s Opening Day on Thursday, September 13.  The winners of all awards will be announced on Friday morning, September 14.

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to attend the Show during the magnificent September weather in New England…visiting over 750 exhibitors and view some 600 boats ranging in size from 15 to 90 feet, plus kayaks, inflatables, services, equipment, electronics and accessories of all types, as well as a State of the Industry News Conference, networking events, educational seminars and parties for exhibitors and attendees alike.
